Morning Program
The school opens at 8:30 a.m. for children who are dropped off. For those that catch the bus, it starts at 8:35 a.m. from Kichijoji Station. The bus has a route that varies depending on where students live and reaches the school between 9:00 a.m. and 9:10 a.m.
The morning program begins with arrival and free play, followed by  Morning Circle time from 9:20 a.m. where we all start school together.  Once the circle time is complete, the children enjoy a morning sing-a-long session till 9:50 a.m.

The next class that follows, is Study Time. Students study what is age appropriate for them in English. Younger children will focus on more games and activities to learn, while the oldest children will mostly be studying in books, but may also include games from time to time.

After the hard work, the children will enjoy some exercise. If the weather permits, we prefer to go outside to nearby parks for them to run around and develop physically on the swings, slides and other equipment. If the weather does not permit us, then the teacher will do some activity inside.

Afternoon Program

Lunch time begins at 12:00 p.m. and ends at 13:00 p.m. Children bring their own lunches and we have a fully equipped kitchen to heat and prepare food as we need to. Lunches are kept in the refrigerator and heated when needed to avoid contamination by bacteria. Several children with food and allergies have studied at Axis and all were accommodated. Children have enough time to enjoy their lunches and once they have finished, may play and talk with one another freely in English.

After lunch, the Toddlers will take a nap while the rest of the children enjoy making something that connects with the daily lessons and monthly theme as indicated on the Monthly Program. The craft time varies due to the nature of the craft. Once that is complete the children enjoy a reading session. Again, this is an age appropriate activity. Younger children will have the story read to them, while the older children may also read the story to each other. Included in this class are activities that go together with the reading.

Children from the younger Preschool classes who are tired or who still need to sleep may also do so if they wish for part or all of the afternoon classes.

At 14:30 p.m. we sing our goodbye song and children get ready to leave.

From 15:00 p.m. until 17:00 p.m. there is an after school program. Children, under supervision, enjoy an afternoon snack, puzzles, language and physical games, reading and free play while they wait to be picked up. The program stops at 5 p.m. The latest pick-up time at the Preschool is currently 5:30 p.m. For children who need to be picked up later, the latest time is 7 p.m. from Axis International School. Please talk to us about these times if you need to.

Once again, thank you for your offer and kindness. It has given us assurance that we are not entrusting our children to teachers who will only educate them academically but to a wonderful people who will educate and challenge them as a whole person. (mentally, morally and spiritually).

M within this week has received offers for two excellent Canadian universities(Victoria and UBC). I must say, it is even better than I even dreamt off. This makes us proud but with the due realization that your efforts have been a crucial contribution and played a big role. Thanks so much and I hope it gives you even more confidence to inspire the best in your students and endeavors.
